Good Samaritan History

The Story of The Good Samaritan is found in the book of Luke 10: 25-37. Jesus uses a compassionate Samaritan to teach the meaning of being a "neighbor" and the importance of showing self-giving love to anyone in need, even those considered "others" or enemies. The Good Samaritan of Tullahoma is derived from this Biblical parable.

Good Samaritan of Tullahoma and its programs began over fifty year ago, formally known as The School Guidance Council overseen by a group of caring people who had concern for the less fortunate. As volunteers, they worked to reach out, and after all these years we continue that tradition.

As such, the Ministerial group made up of some far-sighted pastor's saw the need for a more organized effort and began to make some needed changes to the work already being done.

The first step was to become a chartered orrganaziton. We became chartered in 1985 as a non-profit 501 (c) (3) Charitable Organization, as a way for churches of all denominations, local businesses and citizens to have a centralized location to provide assistance to those in our community in crisis situations.

Formally know as the Tullahoma Funeral  Home, The Good Samaritan currently calls this our home. Located at 210 E. Grundy St. Tullahoma TN 37388
